Rockland County District Attorney Honors Police Week
In 1962, President John F. Kennedy signed a proclamation which designated May 15th as Peace Officers Memorial Day and the calendar week in which that date falls as police week. National Police week is May 11, 2025- May 17, 2025.
District Attorney Walsh said,” Police week pays tribute to the local, state, and federal law enforcement officers who serve and protect us with courage, professionalism and integrity. It is important to pay tribute to the men and women who dedicate themselves to keeping our communities safe. We will always remember our fallen officers who gave the ultimate sacrifice in service of us all. I want to thank our local law enforcement partners throughout Rockland County for their exceptional commitment to keeping our communities safe. I am proud of the criminal investigators and undercover officers working for the Rockland County District Attorney’s Office. They exemplify the dedication and commitment of our local law enforcement in serving the people of Rockland County. This award is just a small token in appreciation of their hard work. It is my privilege to recognize these individuals who serve with distinction and excellence as detectives in my office.”
The following awards were bestowed by the District Attorney at the Rockland County District Attorney’s Office Police Week Ceremony on May 12, 2025:
Special Investigation Unit
Certificate of Excellent Police Work in Aid to Prosecution
