Rockland DA Investigators attend Fallen NYPD PO Michael Buczek Plaque Dedication Ceremony
As we close out National Police Week, we remember NYPD Officer Michael Buczek who was shot and killed in the line of duty on October 18, 1988, while attempting to arrest multiple suspects during a narcotics investigation in Washington Heights, New York.
On May 9, 2025, the NYC Police Benevolent Association, the Rockland County PBA, Orangetown PBA and the Rockland County Shields honored Officer Michael Buczek with a plaque that was presented to his loved ones at their family-owned business, Dunkin Donuts in Pearl River, NY. Investigator George Del Fierro and Investigator Larry Ayers attended the ceremony in support of the Buczek family on behalf of the District Attorney’s Office.
To all the men and women of law enforcement who gave their lives in service to our communities we thank you and always remember the ultimate sacrifice you gave to protect and serve the people of this nation.
