4TH GRAND JURY TERM OF 2026 CONCLUDES

NEW CITY, N.Y. – District Attorney Thomas E. Walsh II announces the completion of the 4th grand jury term of 2026. The grand jury term started on April 3, 2026, and was completed on April 29, 2026, handing up 15 indictments. The Rockland County District Attorney’s Office is committed to seeking justice for the people of Rockland County in a speedy manner in accordance with the law. The following is a list of indicted cases:

·      Shawn A. Laury – Burglary in the Second Degree; Criminal Mischief in the Fourth Degree-Two Counts.

·      Jonathan Schlussel – Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Fifth Degree.

·      Mauro Zumba-Berrones – Attempted Murder in the Second Degree; Burglary in the First Degree-Two Counts; Assault in the Second Degree; Assault in the Third Degree; Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Fourth Degree; Endangering the Welfare of a Child.

·      Ana O. Guillermo DeSchuwerer – Grand Larceny in the Third Degree; Identity Theft in the First Degree.

·      Jose Ribiero – Attempted Robbery in the First Degree as a Hate Crime; Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Third Degree; Menacing in the Second Degree.

·      Anderson Martinez Ruano & Marvin Lorenzo Hernandez – Burglary in the Second Degree-Two counts; Petit Larceny-Two Counts; Criminal Possession of Stolen Property in the Fifth Degree-Two Counts; Criminal Mischief in the Fourth Degree.

·      Markee Pressley – Sex Abuse in the First Degree; Forcible Touching.

·      Jason Butler, Jordy Casserly and Kyle Youngberg – Robbery in the First Degree, Robbery in the Second Degree, Menacing in the Second Degree; Grand Larceny in the Fourth Degree.

·      Francisco Almonte – Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Third Degree; Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Third Degree; Attempted Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance in the Third Degree; Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance in the Fourth Degree.

·      Jesse Brown & Ricky Brown – Robbery in the First Degree-Two Counts; Robbery in the Second Degree; Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Third Degree-Two Counts; Menacing in the Second Degree-Two Counts.

·      Doodly Metellus – Murder in the Second Degree; Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Second Degree.

·      Stanley Etienne – Attempted Murder in the Second Degree; Assault in the First Degree; Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Second Degree.

·      Albert Sutherland – Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Second Degree; Criminal Possession of a Firearm; Unlawful Fleeing a Police Officer in a Motor Vehicle; Reckless Driving, Obstructing of Governmental Administration in the Second Degree; Resisting Arrest.

·      Michael Smith – Criminal Contempt in the First Degree-Two Counts; Aggravated Harassment in the Second Degree.

·      Adrien Douglas – Burglary in the Second Degree as a Sexually Motivated Felony; Sexual Abuse in the First Degree; Criminal Obstruction of Breathing or Blood Circulation.

*It should be noted that an indictment is merely an accusation, and that a defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
