FORMER ROCKLAND COUNTY CORRECTIONS OFFICER PLEADS GUILTY TO ENTIRE INDICTMENT INVOLVING CHILD PORNOGRAPHY
NEW CITY, N.Y. – District Attorney Thomas E. Walsh II announced today that Daniel Dworkin, 45, of Valley Cottage, New York, pleaded guilty to 64 counts of Promoting a Sexual Performance by a Child and 64 counts of Possessing a Sexual Performance by a Child, before the Honorable Djinsad Desir.
Between February 21, 2024, and June 19, 2024, the defendant uploaded numerous images and videos on his Google Drive account which depicted sexual performances by children less than 17 years of age.
The investigation was conducted by the Rockland County District Attorney’s Office Special Victims Unit with assistance from the Clarkstown Police Department.
The People offered the maximum sentence of up to seven years in state prison. The presiding judge offered one to three years in state prison.
“The defendant pleaded guilty to all counts and accepted the judge’s offer of one to three years in state prison,” said District Attorney Walsh. “This sentence was not agreed to by The People and we believe it falls short of holding a predator fully accountable.”
The defendant is scheduled for sentencing on Jan. 20, 2026, before the Honorable Djinsad Desir. The defendant will be required to register as a sex offender upon release from prison.
The case is being prosecuted by Supervising Assistant District Attorney Gerard M. Damiani III of the Special Victims Unit.
