BARDONIA MAN ARRAIGNED ON AN INDICTMENT OF ATTEMPTED DISSEMINATING INDECENT MATERIALS TO MINORS

NEW CITY, N.Y. – Rockland County District Attorney Thomas E. Walsh II announced today that Victor Caligiuri, 28, of Bardonia, New York, was arraigned before the Honorable Kevin F. Russo in Rockland County Court on an indictment charging him with four counts of Attempted Disseminating Indecent Materials to Minors in the First Degree.

The following is as alleged in documents filed and statements made in court:

On or about and between June 1, 2025, and August 31, 2025, the defendant sent messages, photos and videos that were sexually explicit in nature through an instant messaging mobile app called Kik to an undercover investigator from the Rockland County District Attorney’s Office whom the defendant believed to be a 14-year-old girl.

The undercover investigation was led by the Rockland County District Attorney’s Office, the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force and the Homeland Security Investigations. Clarkstown Police Department assisted in the apprehension.

The Rockland County District Attorney’s Office asked the court to set bail in the amount of $25,000 cash, $50,000 bond or a $75,000 partially secured bond. The Honorable Kevin F. Russo denied the request and released the defendant without any bail conditions over the District Attorney’s strong objection.

“The operation required vigilance, coordination, and commitment, and I’m proud of the efforts that this team put forth in protecting children and keeping Rockland County safe,” said District Attorney Walsh.

The case is being prosecuted by Supervising Assistant District Attorney Gerard M. Damiani III of the Special Victims Unit and Senior Assistant District Attorney Katherine McLaughlin.

*It should be noted that an indictment is merely an accusation, and that a defendant should be presumed innocent until proven guilty.
