FORMER ROCKLAND COUNTY CORRECTIONS OFFICER SENTENCED TO STATE PRISON FOR CHILD PORNOGRAPHY
NEW CITY, N.Y. – District Attorney Thomas E. Walsh II announced today that former Rockland County Corrections Officer Daniel Dworkin, 45, of Valley Cottage, New York, was sentenced to 1-3 years in state prison before the Honorable David M. Ascher.
The defendant, who previously pled guilty to the entire indictment in September 2025, was charged with 64 counts of Promoting a Sexual Performance by a Child and 64 counts of Possessing a Sexual Performance by a Child.
This investigation began with a CyberTipline report from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children that was referred to the Rockland County District Attorney's Office, a member agency of the New York State Police Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force.
Between February 21, 2024, and June 19, 2024, the defendant uploaded numerous images and videos on his Google Drive account which depicted sexual performances by children less than 17 years of age.
The results of the investigation led to the execution of multiple search warrants on the defendant’s internet accounts, electronic devices, home and place of work.
In addition to the sentence the defendant was ordered to pay a $1,000 fine and will be required to register as a sex offender upon release from prison.
“Every time this material is viewed, children are victimized again and again. We must protect our children,” said District Attorney Walsh. “The defendant knowingly contributed to ongoing harm, all while holding a position of public trust and authority, making this sentence both appropriate and necessary. The safety and wellbeing of our children is a top priority of the Rockland County District Attorney’s Office.”
The investigation was conducted by the Rockland County District Attorney’s ICAC Task Force and Special Victims Unit with assistance from the Clarkstown Police Department and Homeland Security Investigations.
The case was prosecuted by Supervising Assistant District Attorney Gerard M. Damiani III of the Special Victims Unit.
